One of my favorite songs by Hazel is his cover of the Mamas & Papas' hit "California Dreamin'", which he recorded on his 1977 solo album "Games, Dames and Guitar Thangs". The reason this song causes wonder for me is the mixture of Hazel's vocals and guitars, which blend together in excellent harmony with the background singers. Although Hazel plays throughout almost the entire song, the guitar part does not crowd out the vocals, resulting in a relaxing balance of vocal and instrumental parts.  As an aspiring guitarist, I am awe-struck by the way Hazel weaves together all of the pieces of the song so seamlessly.
